What we store, and for how long

This site is deliberately quiet. There is no analytics script, no advertising, no tracking pixel, and no third-party cookie. Nothing is loaded from another company's servers unless you ask for it.

Who is responsible

The controller for the data described here is Wesly de Ruiter, reachable at hello@livesoftribes.com. Write to that address for access, correction, or deletion, and we will act on it.

What we collect, and only when you send it

  • Forms — when you add a listing, invite us to film, or ask us to point you somewhere, we store what you typed: name, email address, the place, an optional website, and your message.
  • Newsletter — we store your email address and whether you confirmed it. Nothing else.
  • A hashed IP address, alongside a submission, purely to make spam harder. We never store the address itself, and where no hashing secret is configured we store nothing at all.

What we never do

  • We do not publish a submission automatically. A person reads it first.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your address with anyone.
  • We do not take bookings for the places on the map, and we do not pass your details to them without you asking.
  • We do not use an external form service — submissions go straight into our own database on our own server.

Newsletter: double opt-in

After you sign up we send one email asking you to confirm. Until you click that link you receive nothing else, and an unconfirmed address is never used. Every message we do send carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

How long we keep it

We do not run an automatic deletion schedule, so we keep what you send until it is no longer needed. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any message we send. Ask us to delete something and we will, without needing a reason.

Video and radio

Video is embedded through YouTube's no-cookie player and, more importantly, is not loaded at all until you press play — before that click your browser makes no request to Google. Radio metadata is fetched by our server, not by your browser, so listening does not hand your address to the broadcaster. The audio stream itself does connect directly to the radio host, because audio cannot be relayed any other way.

Fonts

The typefaces are served from this domain. No font CDN sees your visit.
